The 2019 Harris Edwardes Competition -- the CAWA's official interclub chess tournament -- will be played on Sunday 28th July and Sunday 4th August.
The competition venue is Leeming Primary School (Southern Suburbs Chess Club). Tournament entry is free, and perpetual trophies are awarded to the winning teams in each division. All games are ACF-rated.
Once again, Southern Suburbs Chess Club will be entering teams in each division.
The club was well represented in this tournament in 2018, with 25 SSCC players competing for the club's teams, which won all 3 divisions.
We hope that as many club members as possible will choose to play for the club again in 2019!
Each team consists of 4 players, plus reserves. Players do not need to form their own teams: the club will do this. If we have large numbers of players in any division, we will enter extra teams in that division so that all interested players can participate.
If you would like to represent Southern Suburbs Chess Club in this competition, please register your interest with Andrew Hardegen. Alternatively, write your name on the SSCC Harris Interclub Player List which will be displayed at the club from June onwards. In order to help us organise our teams ahead of time, we ask that all interested players inform us of their willingness to participate by Tuesday 16th July.
