2022 SSCC Blitz Championship

The 2022 SSCC Blitz Championship consists of the following 3 blitz tournaments, expected to be held throughout the year.

February Blitz Tournament: 1st February
Easter Blitz Tournament: 29th March
Spring Blitz Tournament: 11th October

Players are awarded points for each tournament they participated in, according to a Grand Prix System (1st in category: 10 points, 2nd: 8 points, 3rd: 6 points, 4th: 4 points, 5th: 3 points, 6th and below: 2 points). Once the 3 tournaments were completed, the points were tallied and the respective SSCC Blitz Championship titles awarded to the leading players in each category.

Cash prizes were awarded for performances in the individual tournaments, as is the case for all events held at the club. No Grand Prix cash prizes were offered. Thus, players did not need to participate in all 3 tournaments to be in the running for prizes.

The entry fee for each tournament was $10. Fischer time controls (3 minutes initial time, with 2 seconds increment per move) were used for all blitz events in 2021, as are used in ACF and FIDE blitz events.
