All chess players are invited to participate in the 2022 Southern Suburbs Open. This will be the first standard time control tournament to be held at the club in 2022. It is open to all CAWA members (SSCC members receive an entry fee discount).
Format: 7 Round Swiss, ACF- and FIDE-rated, open to all CAWA members.
Time Control: 90 minutes with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move 1.
8th February: Round 1
15th February: Round 2
22nd February: Round 3
1st March:: Round 4
8th March: Round 5
15th March: Round 6
22nd March: Round 7
All rounds will begin at 7:30pm. The default time will be 30 minutes, as is the standard for ACF-rated tournaments.
Byes: Players may choose to take up to 2 half-point byes, but not for Rounds 6 or 7.
Entry Fee (SSCC members): $25. To receive this discount, players must pay their 2022 SSCC membership fee prior to the start of the tournament.
Entry Fee (SSCC non-members): $35.
Closing Date: Monday 7th February.
